{Bridal Shower} A Chic Brunch Affair

This board pretty much completes my life. I can't think of anything more amazing than a bridal shower brunch, I mean look at all the amazing options! I love the idea of mixing it up a little bit and doing a little brunch activity for the bridal shower. I feel like it is a little less-done and it gives a bit more of a reason for people to want to come. They know it is going to be an actual meal and even if it's boring (I am very much not a fan of bridal showers...) at least they will be able to eat :) HAHA. I want to create a classy little brunch with chic tablescapes and cute little favors. Nothing massive, but since I feel for all those that hate bridal showers just like myself, I am trying to create a scene that they might actually be excited to come to!

My Bridal Shower Must Haves:

1. Raspberry in each champagne glass full of orange juice {or any drink for that matter!}

2. My mom's homemade quiche {I'm obsessed!}

3. Crepes

4. Lattes with Coffee Stencils that say something awesome.

5. Lots of white and lightly colored flowers.

6. Box favors on each seat tied in a piece of light cloth as the wrapping.

I will have this list on my mind as the bridal shower gets closer and closer of course. And I will probably add a whole bunch more "must-haves" to it so I end up with the most incredibly {and probably way-to-fattening} brunch of all time!

What are your bridal shower must-haves???

Games, Games Everywhere!

At first thought, I would tell any bride not to have games at the wedding. Games can get pretty competitive and you don't want people losing site of the purpose for them being there just because they are too enveloped with their game. I definitely don't want people lagging behind while we are all trying to be seated due to the fact that an intense game is going on. However, my whole viewpoint really turned around at some point. I don't know if it was the venue, or what, but I sort of began adding games into the wedding plans. My idea would be to add horseshoes and bocce ball into the cocktail hour. Both are pretty social games and hopefully nothing too heated will come from those choices. But, I think they would be a fun way for people to hang out during the time before dinner. It is also a great photo opp as well! And how cute are these sets?? They would go perfectly!

Maybe games aren't bad after all! Huh? I definitely think I am going to add in these little ideas as something extra to do! Anyone else adding any games to their wedding?? Any past brides have feedback from doing it??

{Inspired Style} Backyard Bonanza

As you know, I had talked about doing a backyard wedding for a long time. It was something that always remained in the back of my head. I love the intimacy of the backyard wedding (and the price isn't bad either!) Overall, having a blank canvas to do as you wish as much as you wish is really an unbeatable scenario. These cute little backyard details transform a regular old backyard into the fun affair that is your wedding day. And a beautiful wedding day at that!

{Inspired Style} Garden Chic

The classic yet embellished look of a "Garden Chic" wedding is something you are sure to become slightly obsessed with. This style is all about creams, whites, golds, and neutrals. It's a very organic feeling look, since it does take place in a garden, but it is all about taking the "garden" feel out and adding in classy and sophisticated. Meshing the two will give you a chic and amazing looking affair, but still the simple and organic charm that a garden is known and loved for. As far as the attire, you are definitely going for something "blowing in the wind" worthy. Something big and something that will create quite an effect with accompanied with wind and twirling. This is a very fairytale-like scene. It's stunning.

{Inspired Style} Vintage Romance

Here we go for day 2 of "Inspired Style" week. Inspired Style is a week long inspiration-fest displaying styles of inspiration. Engaged & Inspired offers "The Inspired Board" to give brides a bit of clarity on their exact wedding vision by combining each style perfectly allowing the overall product of the wedding to be seamlessly cohesive. Looking at all the amazing things the wedding industry offers can leave you majorly inspired, yet totally overwhelmed by all the new ideas you want at your wedding. The Inspired Board gives a sense of clarity and focus to your vision no matter how many different styles you want to add into your special day. Vintage Romance is such a fun style to create through a wedding. There is nothing more whimsical and beautiful as a light and fresh color palette filled with romantic details. Single peonies out of milk jars add an elegance that I totally appreciate in a wedding. Oh and those benches, talk about amazing (and really similar to what I am doing for my wedding!). This color palette inspires love, passion and simplistic romance. Amazing.

{Inspired Style} Barn Beauty

In my attempt to hone in on a more specific inspiration type, I found it pretty hard to search for what I wanted because I didn't know what to call it! All week long I am going to present you with different style inspiration boards. We will cover it all, and hopefully infuse an extra burst of inspiration this week. Enjoy! This morning I am choosing a style that hits pretty close to home for me. I have decided to do a ranch and barn (yep, it has both) style wedding, so I figured I would start out with a new favorite of mine, ranch inspiration.

The details that can be added to a ranch wedding just drive me crazy with excitement. Adding some gorgeous additions to an already interesting space such as an old ranch or barn, creates an atmosphere of pure beauty.

I'm definitely loving the "coats" sign and those amazing tablescapes. Oh and that cake is to die for. I love all the amazing details you can use: textured fabrics, bright colors, vintage details, etc.

Who is doing a ranch or barn type wedding?? Anyone?? I would love to hear some of the not-so-traditional details you are adding to your overall scene. What amazing extras are you adding?

The gorgeousness that is blush pink and navy blue! This style doesn't really fit my wedding too much anymore, but I'll most definitely be incorporating this in as much as possible.

{Florals} A Little DIY Tablescape Inspiration

The fantastic Kia Gregory sent over some images of a little DIY tablescape she did on a whim after picking some gorgeous wildflowers the other day. Now talk about inspiration central! This whole vintage look is so simple, elegant and just all around amazing. Adding a touch of lace to the table and those chic mirrors (not those ugly ones that come with most venues) definitely sets the tone of the overall vintage centerpiece we've got on our hands.

Such a great addition, those teacups are fantastic!

Now that's what I call table love right here!

Check out Kia Gregory for more gorgeous inspiration!

{Inspiration} Home Decor

I spent the last week moving. It has taken me away from the computer a bit more, but no need to worry, I am making great headway on the wedding planning for sure! More about that soon! As I have said before, I absolutely love taking home decor and transferring it into wedding decor (then straight back to home decor for dual uses!).

I wanted to show off a little of the home inspiration and I am grabbing from because I am of course only getting items that can be dual used for my wedding as well. This has given me a whole new burst of wedding inspiration cause it is new and different and the ideas are most definitely unconventional. Which, if you know me, us exactly what I love!

These colors and textures are definitely what I am looking for in terms of wedding decor and the feel I want. I take home decor photos and look for those little details such as shelves, books, lamps, coffee table decor, etc. and those are the things I definitely plan to dual use! I love that I have similar style for both the home and the wedding, talk about green and reusable! Are you incorporating any items into your wedding that you plan to use afterward for your home?
