Falling From the Sky

I've been such a jet setter this past two weeks, that I have little time for wedding planning, or much else for that matter! Later today I am going to announce the winners of the last two giveaways and give my wedding update and so much more. For now, I'm loving these little hanging additions, so I thought I would share some of my inspiration!

{Wedding Wednesday Finds} Statement Dresses and Some Amazing Shoots

This weeks Wedding Wednesday finds are insane! How people are so talented and amazing is beyond me sometimes. I had a marvelous time looking through these shoots and finding some incredibly inspiring shoots around the blog-sphere. And with the launch of The Inspired List coming up, I feel like this immersion in inspiration is exactly what I needed to get me back into "wedding mode" instead of "launch mode". I have a wedding coming up in 6 months?? What? You wouldn't believe how unprepared I am.

Enjoy the pretty

What an amazing engagement shoot over on Love and Lavender.

LOVE this look. First of all, black shoes have never looked this fantastic. And that vintage dress? OH MY! Thanks to The Knotty Bride for this shoot.

This shoot is truly fantastic. Truly. 100 Layer Cake definitely did it again with such incredible eye candy.

Such a great engagement shoot from Chelsea Nicole. I love how creative people are getting with engagement shoots these days!

Aww. I want this. From Allison Magda

OMG. Darling wedding shots. As a small hint, consider this a small peak into my wedding vision.

Major inspiration for my Bridal Party Brunch! Yummy, Yummy, Yummy! If I ever get around to planning something this amazing and awesome, my guests will be in for a big treat. Via: Ashley Meaders

For the Love of Twine

Baker's Twine has been a lovely addition to the wedding world (and just about everywhere else!) for some time. I am totally in love with the way it looks and all the different uses for it! Really, they seem to be endless. I am planning on using these for my invitations, place cards as well as for the wedding favors. But I may sneak it in a few more places here and there too.

So many great ideas huh?? In my search for twine, I realized how expensive everyone was selling it for. So, I ended buying a huge bulk of it with all the different colors (cause I didn't know which color I wanted) and ended up with SO much twine. I decided to start up a little Etsy shop and sell it for SUPER cheap. I want other brides to be able to get the quantity they want without spending $8 or $10 on it. So, I have started to list a few ( but I have a long way to go with my photography and creating the store front) for anyone that is in need of some super cheap twine. $1.5 for every 25 yards and $4 for 100 yards. Oh and I also have about 200 of those white boxes above in case your wedding favors are along the lines of something wrapped in a cute box!

Love all of these ideas so much! I'm excited to wrap up tons of stuff in cute twine! Below are the four colors I have available. You can buy it on Etsy (though not all the listings are up yet) or jut e-mail me allison@engagedandinspired.com with what color and how much!

Clockwise: Green/White, Navy blue/white, Baby blue/white, red/white.

Shipping is $2.00 anywhere in the US!

Happy Twining!

Teacher's Pet

Today we have a little school-inspired inspiration! I love the idea of taking a theme and making it chic and different but still fitting with the original look. Adding elements to the wedding such as globes, books, chalkboards, and pencils make for a fun little inspiration board!

Holding onto Spring

I don't know about you guys, but I'm holding onto the thought of spring. Maybe it is because I feel fully jipped by California's idea of summer this year, or maybe it is because come next Spring I will be getting married, but either way, I'm loving and I'm holding onto it! So I am putting forth a little spring inspiration board for us all. It is a bit harder to plan a spring wedding when all the upcoming inspiration is going to be winter-ific! I love winter weddings, so I am hoping I am not tempted with too many amazing color palettes, winter ideas, etc. How many people are doing succulents? I have definitely been contemplating them recently. Oh and isn't that mailbox the CUTEST way to get your gifts?? I think it's incredible. And of course macaroons in a chalkboard bowl, what else do you need?

PS: I have been sick for the last several days (it's been 5+ years since my last sickness) so I've had better days. But, today I went to Starbucks to get a Chamomile tea and finally do some blogging and what do you know, I spilled the whole hot thing :( The guy was super dooper nice and gave me another, and luckily my computer ended up being ok! Close one though. Definitely a close one. I'm grateful for the nice Starbucks man though, I need this tea!

{Guest Blog} Pretty in Peridot

Remember last week when we had Jessica and Erin over here guest blogging about the color Peridot and all the wonderful summertime inspiration?? Well, they are back again with 2 more Peridot styles! Make sure you check out their pretty little blog too! I had a ball looking through it! We covered the "backyard" color board last time. Today we have a "downtown" inspiration board. This is a perfect San Francisco 2011 wedding palate.

Sources (clockwise from bottom left): bottle chandelier; table setting; dress; petal dish; table display; table numbers; bracelet; lattice cake; the first look; berry pomander.

Lastly, here is a the tropical inspiration board. This one is a perfect match for the destination wedding brides looking to spruce up their palate a tinge!

{Pretty in Peridot} Backyard

Today we have the fabulous Erin and Jessica of "Two Wedding Belles" here to provide us with some incredible inspiration! Enjoy the first of 3 posts by Erin and Jessica using Peridot to create a wow-factor wedding day. Peridot is a unique color: a dark and stormier version of lime, with a generous dose of gold. It's a color that holds its own, but it plays nicely with others too. We took the concept of a wedding heavy on the peridot, perhaps for an August bride wanting to include hues inspired by the month's signature stone, and styled it three ways.

1. a backyard fete with a cozy feel and lots of earthy elements.

When we started out, we weren't sure if each board would be unique enough to stand apart. At first it was just a sea of green. But surely, pull in a bouquet tied with gingham ribbon here and add contoured lines of a table display there, and each concept begins to establish its own identity.

Striped Straw Love

It has started! I feel totally different now that I have a venue picked. The ideas flowing like you wouldn't believe! But that is also where the problem lies. I don't want to give up all the details prior to the wedding happening because a) people that are coming to the wedding read this and b) I don't want the wedding to come and have all my ideas be "last weeks inspiration". So, I'm going to figure out how to play with it so there is are still some surprises, but you all stay in the know on all the plans! So now for today. I have been looking for straws like these everywhere, and I finally found a place to get them. I do want these for my wedding, but I actually wanted to find them for summer parties at our new house. There are so many times to use these little cute accessories, that you might as well just do what I did and buy a variety of colors! I price-checked, these are the cheapest! Check out this Etsy shop.

Oh and Ian and I are working on this new project, which surprisingly should be done way sooner than expected! If you want to add some feedback, as a vendor or bride, fill out this survey which also adds you to our big giveaway!

{Inspired Style} Vintage Tea Party

Ahhhh the Vintage Tea Party. So simple, so chic and so classic. The colors and textures are so whimsical and fun. Just imagine something as classic as this in a venue such as an old barn or rundown field. The two opposites definitely know how to attract to create perfection. And those music sheet flower holders, I sense a DIY in my future!
