Styling :: The Groomsmen

February 10, 2012

A few weeks ago I showed you our inspiration and decision on the bridesmaids. Now it’s time to talk groomsmen. Styling the men is more difficult for me. I know when something looks good, but I’m lost when it comes to putting it all together. For women, I like to think I know what looks good on different body types and skin tones but I don’t have a clue where to start when it comes to the men. Dan and I both agree we do not want to go with tuxes- it just isn’t our style. We want something more laid back and casual like khakis and navy blazers, but don’t want it to look to preppy. Like the ladies, I love the idea of having the men mismatched, and I found some great pictures where all the men are wearing the same vest, but different shirts, ties and/or shoes. Also, since we are not going with tuxes, it is likely the men will have to buy their outfit. I kind of like this idea because Dan usually spends about $200 to rent the tux when he is in wedding. At least the guys will get to keep their clothes.

Here are some of the images I love. I’m warning you- they are all across the board. Please help me narrow my vision!

    Ugh! I feel the same way about guys! We’ve decided to have all of our guys in brown-ish toned suits with white shirts (we can’t decide if we want mismatched or matching ties). JB will be in a three-piece suit, so that he looks a little bit more formal than the other guys. It was really hard to finally decide though and as you can see, we’re not completely done deciding, so I feel your pain.
