Ceremony signs are one of my favorite wedding details. I think they are one of the most special decorations you could have on your wedding day. Whatever you choose to do with that altar, make it a true reflection of you. I get lots and lots of emails about my ceremony sign, and even more emails about those fabulous doors. So how do you achieve the look? And where does it all come from? So here it goes!

Style It:

It is so easy to style a fabulous ceremony sign for your wedding day. Check out what you need to make it happen!

• Sign - $200 from Etsy. (Or make it)
• Doors - $50 each for rental from Milkglass Vintage Rentals (San Francisco Bay Area Local). Otherwise you can find them at most antique stores and faires.

{The Lab Event} Poetic Whimsy

This past January the fruits of our year-long planning labor came to life at The Lab Event, a totally awesome bridal experience unlike any other. Myself alongside Erin of Bustle Events and Yasmin of Floral Theory produced an event filled to the brim with inspiration for brides. 6 amazing teams of vendors put together mock weddings showcasing the very best of their work.

This team was assigned an inspiration board entitled "Poetic Whimsy" and boy did they hit the nail on the head with their amazing ideas. Shot by Volatile Photography and designed by A & B Creative, they didn't miss a beat when it came to the details. Twigss did a phenominal job on the florals, (I mean, look at that bouquet!) and Batter Bakery brought it as always with a dessert bar is way too good for our own waistlines.

Arizona Country Club Wedding by Brushfire Photography

The day comes when one of my wonderful bride bloggers goes off and gets married. Remember Jess? She was our winter Arizona bride planning a wedding with plenty of unique elements including artichokes. You heard that right, artichokes! It is always great to see how their inspiration turned into a personal vision and how that was carried out on the day of the wedding. Afterall, that is why I have real brides blogging for Engaged & Inspired. I know that we all start with inspiration but each person puts their own spin on it and it becomes something totally unique. Today's wedding is an example of a wedding my husband would have loved to have. A cabin tucked in the woods with all your favorite people celebrating love. Oh ya, so much beauty tucked in the woods, I just can't get enough of it. Thanks to Brushfire Photography for shooting such a cozy and personal wedding for us to gawk over.

Umba Box Dinner by Engaged & Inspired

A few weeks back during Alt Summit I had the chance to style a dinner with 20 Alt Summit attendees for Umba Box. We chose their branding colors, Navy Blue + Coral, and went with some fun handmade details to reflect their brand. Umba Box is a subscription service featuring a box of handmade goodies sent to your door each month. They do all the work scouring the internet for the best handmade goods for you. Amazing right? Check them out.

Florals were supplied by Sarah Winward an amazing Salt Lake City floral designer. I designed the menu and painted the edges to add some color.

I also handmade the place cards for each guest. I'll be sharing the DIY on these on the Umba Box blog in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for that.

Good food and good times were had by all! It was a great way to start out the Alt Summit experience and I am so happy I was able to be a part of making this space special for the guests. Thanks Umba Box for allowing me to be a part and thanks to Sarah Winward to producing the fabulous flowers for the event.

This wedding is a DIY bride's dream. It is filled with countless details each an infusion of the couple's style. Get those pin buttons ready to go as you are going to need them for this fabulous DIY California wedding!

"Charming, rustic, and very DIY backyard wedding in Orangevale California, at the groom's childhood home! Beautiful fall details and color in this perfectly intimate wedding. Ashlynn and Charlie met in San Diego. They planned a backyard wedding at the home of Charlie's parents. The couple had a first look under Willow trees that Charlie remembers planting when he was young. Ashlynn incorporated many family heirlooms/personal details into her wedding day: The maid of honor, bride's mom, aunt and future mother in law and bride spent a few days working together to make batches and batches of homemade jam for our wedding favors. Charlie and Ashlynn handmade all of the nail and yarn table numbers, wooden signs, bunting, vases...most of the decor. Ashlynn's grandmother made them a wedding quilt that has events in our lives and relationship on it and also sewed the bunting banners, the bridesmaid's purses, and personalized hankerchiefs for each girl! The couple had a type writer as their guest book, which belonged to Charlie's grandpa's who passed away a few years ago."

There are so many things I love about this wedding, first being those bridesmaid dresses! It is hard to find fashionable dresses for your lovely ladies, especially if like me, you prefer something non-traditional-bridesmaid. The bride is so giddy and excited that you can't help but smile when looking through this wedding. And lastly, the ombre floral backdrop is awesome.

"Kara and Eric's beautiful wedding was full of love and amazing details. It all took place at the beautiful Westward Look Resort in Tucson Arizona. From the hand painted ombre flower backdrop at their ceremony to the floral print shoes the bridesmaids wore, the whole day was lovely and elegant."
