{Real Brides} Kate :: A Happy Graphic meets Rustic Chic Bride

Oh, hello!  I'm Kate - and I am thrilled to be blogging about my adventures in wedding planning on Engaged & Inspired every Tuesday.  Learn more about me (and our wedding) below!

Name: Kate!
Age: 28
Location: Doylestown, PA
Occupation: Sr. Administrative Assistant/Operations Analyst (yes, even I’m confused by the title)
Wedding Date: March 30, 2012
Venue: Normandy Farms
Planner:  Me + Glitter + Rye (for day-of coordination)
 Photographer:  Sanderson Images
Budget:  $35,000.  That seems so scary expensive when I see it typed out, but we've been paying off vendors over the course of the last year - and that's been working really well for us.  Our parents are both contributing generous amounts, and we're using that towards the reception (aka the biggest part)!  We're trying hard not to go above that, but I'm the first to admit I'm terrible at sticking to a budget.

About Me: I’m a future bride, aspiring blogger, and wannabe DIYer!  My fiancé, Tim, proposed in Savannah a few days after Christmas, after we had braved a snowstorm on our way down from Pennsylvania.  We made it in one piece, and came back to celebrate New Year’s Eve ENGAGED!  Fast forward 9 months and we are just 5 short months away from our March 30th  wedding – and deep in the throes of planning. It's crunch time and we have a lot to accomplish in the next few months –including house hunting!   Because wedding planning alone was just not quite enough. ;)   You can follow me on Twitter for wedding & general life updates.

Wedding Style: Happy Graphic meets Rustic Chic :)

I have wavered back and forth with our wedding theme a bit, but now that we’re getting closer I am working on narrowing it down (it’s hard though!).  Inspiration boards are really helpful, seeing everything all in one spot is great for deciding if something just doesn’t fit in with everything else. I want our wedding to be about all things kraft paper, bunting, quirky typography, baker’s twine, blue mason jars, vintage frames, and indie music.  I'm not sure how brides survived without Pinterest it's kind of a life saver.  I can’t wait to share my progress, and also get your advice when I’m stuck on a decision.  Welcome to my wedding planning journey!
