Light Up My Life
August 3rd, 2010 by Allison Silber
I’m trying to play it calm and act like everything is ok right now- but it’s so not, and unfortunately I don’t think I am very good at hiding it.
After my horrible venue meeting on Sunday, I can’t help but be incredibly discouraged right now. I can’t look at the same venues, and the same sites all over again. It’s driving me nuts. And the worst part is that it’s so all my fault. So not only am I discouraged, I feel so guilty for finding the perfect place, a place that Ian loved probably more than I did, and then taking that chance away. Wow- what a great feeling.
So this morning was quite challenging. I am officially engaged and uninspired. I know that’s bound to happen every now and then though. So in my search for wedding inspiration and things I love, well I don’t know anymore because I can’t even picture the wedding!
At least I know that these things will light up my life and will always be in my wedding vision. Let’s just hope that vision has a venue with which to blossom into an actual event.
Sorry for the vent- I’ll get back on my feet soon enough I hope and be back to battery with a new venue to show off soon :)
Thanks for encouraging words via Twitter as well. You guys are all amazing!

I’m so sorry! Are you still going with that venue or did things get so bad you’re doing to go somewhere else?
I got very frustrated when we were trying to set our date because the church kept rejecting the dates we wanted. I had to be very patient and eventually it worked out and I was able to move on with my planning. I know things will work out for you too!

Things happen for a reason and when you will be walking down the aisle to Ian, everything will make sense and you will be in that perfect you fought hard to find! Chin up lovely. You are one inspiring woman and it’s OK to have lows! xx

We had major issues selecting a venue and I got super discouraged. Our top choice actually told us No because they thought our charity efforts were too complicated! It made no sense as they would have nothing to do with that side of things. However in the end, it worked out much better. Stay positive and don’t let this ruin your fun! You WILL find a venue and it WILL be better than anything you have come across so far! Whatever you do, don’t settle and don’t let this stand in your way of planning the most amazing wedding ever! The perfect venue is out there, just wait for it!
